Glens Falls
came out strong but gave up two early goals in their first game of the
season. After the rocky start the Indians settled down and got to work. Sean
Hooker scored the first GF goal on a nice feed from Tanner Sax to put the
halftime score at 2-1 Schuylerville. After the break the the Indians
continued to push for the eaqualizer and got it with a Nate Didio goal
midway through the half. Clark Wooley took a shot that slipped by the keeper
but with the defense scrambling Didio made it a sure thing by hitting it
hard into the net before they could recover. Ten minutes from full time Sax
played a driven cross into the box where Wooley made a spectacular dive,
heading the ball into the far corner for the winning score. Luke Collins had
a stand out game in the midfield. Patrick Resse made two saves for the win. |

The Indians
came out much stronger in the second game of the Adirondack Shootout scoring
three times in each half and allowing only one on three shots to the
Cardinals. Nate Didio picked up the first after he intercepted a pass a the
top of the box and beat his defender to go one on one with the keeper,
slipping it under him easily. Sean Hooker would get on the board soon after
with a steal and score of his own. Hooker would score one more time before
half with an unassisted blast off the crossbar. After the half it was Hooker
again who would get on the board first driving the ball to the far post
after a feed from John Cote and some nice individual work in the box. Hooker
then took a nice corner that was tipped slightly by the kicker and fell
nicely to Wooley who calmly put it in the back of the goal. A defensive let
down late in the second allowed a soft score by the Cardinals but the lead
was quickly restored minutes later when Sax played a nice forward pass to
Hooker who beat a man before rippling the net for the fourth time in the
match to finish the scoring. |

The Indians suffered their first loss of the season to the
Spartans in weird match that saw the home team score three scrappy goals and
the visiting Indians not generate a single shot on goal. Some defensive
miscues allowed multiple free looks at goal to Queensbury early in the game
but it was some scrappy play by the Spartan forwards that generated the
first scores after Glens Falls settled down. Down two goals at the half GF
made a formation change. Although Queensbury would eventually add a third
and final goal the Indians played a much more productive half, seeing much
more of the ball in the offensive end and generating five shots, though none
on frame. Kyle Wilcox had a good game on the defensive side while Luke
Collins and Sean Hooker led the offense. Patrick Resse made six saves in
the loss. |

Broadalbin-Perth scored direct from a free kick with 8 minutes remaining to
steal the win from Glens Falls in a game that saw the hosts as the better
team for most of the game. Much of the game was played in the middle third
of the field with play shifting back and forth quickly. BP used there quick
forwards to try and get behind the GF defense only to be closed out before
becoming much of a danger. The few times the ball made it through the Indian
keeper was ready an made the saves. GF played more of a possession style
game and put persistent pressure on the BP backline throughout the match
only to be turned away by some outstanding defense. The Indians found
themselves in the opponents box on multiple occasions but were unable to
muster anything dangerous on goal. The turning point in the match came after
BP was fouled just off the top of the Indians penalty box. The kicker placed
the ball perfectly in the upper ninety of the far post to earn the win.
Glens Falls got standout games from their entire defense line, including
Kyle and Cory Wilcox, Jon White, Ethan Katz, and Michael Basford. Patrick
Resse made 6 saves in the loss. |

Glens Falls got
off to a great start in their home match against Johnstown, scoring twice
(Luke Collins) in the first fifteen minutes and playing shutout defense in
the first half. After the break the Indians held a large chunk of possession
but were unable to add to the lead. With ten minutes left a JT player was
brought down in the box and awarded penalty kick. The Sir Bills made no
mistake and cut the lead to one. Three minutes later the Indians defense was
left scrambling to defend a counter attack but the JT forward finished
neatly into the side netting to tie the game. Neither team was able to score
through two overtime periods. |

Gloversville came out strong and got an early first half lead
on an opportunistic finish from close range. The sloppy field led to a lot
of sloppy play and slips and falls which made it hard for either team to
settle in although the Dragons adjusted quicker and capitalized on a slow
defense when a long throw bounced inside the Indians box and was picked up
by a GV forward who put the ball over Patrick Resse and into the far side of
the net. The dragons held the 1 goal edge until early in the second half.
GF made some adjustments and settled down to take control. Logan Kunst
found John Cote alone at the top of the box and he calmly placed the ball in
the back of the net to tie the score. Midway through the second half Luke
Collins played a long cross that Mike Basford got a foot to and played to
Nate Didio who took a touch before blasting the ball past the helpless GV
keeper. Kunst would add the insurance goal with fifteen to play when he
buried a one time shot from a Sean Barnes cross making the final score GF 3
GV 1 and notching the second league win of a frustrating season for the
Indians. |

Glens Falls put
together their best performance of the year with a solid win over Queensbury
that avenges a 3-0 loss earlier this season. Nate Didio scored midway
through the first half to get things started. The Indians defense did there
job well in the first as well holding the Spartans to only two shots on
goal. In the second half it was Sean Hooker getting the score to end a long
personal drought and extend the GF lead to two. The entire team put in a
great effort and played smart soccer throughout the game. Patrick Resse made
9 saves in the game and got a little help from Kyle Wilcox who made a goal
mouth block to preserve the shutout. |

Glens Falls
needed a late goal from Logan Kunst to seal the win in the completeion of
game postponed due to weather nearly two weeks ago. The score was 0-0 with
23 minutes remaining when play was restarted but it only took the Indians 10
minutes to get on the board. Sean Hooker played a ball straight into the
path of Nate Didio who gathered the ball and ran away from the defensive
line to finish cleanly into the side of the net. GF continued to threaten
throughout the remainder of the first half but coulsd not finish a number of
quality chances. The Tigers managed a couple of decent attacks of there own
before half but starting keeper Patrick Resse was there to make the
necessary saves. A hard collision with a HF forward would require Resse to
leave the game just before the half time whistle. In the second half the
Tigers had multiple chances to score and would finally equalize with 10
minutes to play. The Tiger defense collected the ball in their defensive
third and hit a long ball into the right corner. The HF forward did well to
gather the ball and send a long high ball from near the corner over the GF
keeper and into the far side net to tie the game. The Indians responded
almost immediately when a ball played from the left flank found Sean Hooker
at the top of the box. Hooker played a short chip over the defense into the
path of Logan Kunst who tokk a touch before scoring the winning goal. |

Bulldogs. The Indians couldn't contain a swarming Bulldog attack that
couldn't seem to miss. SGF finished the first half by scoring on their final
4 shots, going into the break up 6-0. In the second the Indians found a
little more success in attack but were not able to score, or keep the
opponent from doing so either. SGF would score three more goals in the half
(including thier first shot of the half, making it 5 in a row) to seal the

Glens Falls
needed two late goals to earn the win in Johnstown. Though the Indians held
an advantage in flow of play they were unable to find the back of the net
until late in the game when Logan Kunst headed in the equalizer. Corey
Wilcox played a free kick into the box that found the head of Sean Hooker
and then the head of Kunst who put the ball up and over the keeper. The
winner was scored by Clark Wooley when he banged home a low cross from
Hooker with only a few minutes to play. GF did a great job on defense
despite the sloppy field conditions and the physical play by the opponent,
limiting the Sir Bills to 4 shots on goal, only one in he second half.
Patrick Resse made 3 saves in the win. |

The Indians
suffered a tough loss, giving up the game winner in the first minute of the
second overtime to Scotia after leading the game 3-0 with twenty minutes to
go. Clark Wooley started the scoring early, burying a long cross from Ethan
Katz. Sean Hooker added a goal a few minutes later when he put the ball into
the far side of the goal off a pass from Tanner Sax. Leading 2-0 at the half
the Indians continued their strong play, dominating possession and creating
chances. A few minutes after the restart Clark Wooley played a ball to the
left side for Sean Hooker who took a few touches and again beat the Tartan
keeper to stretch the lead to 3. Scotia started to push for a goal a little
harder with the GF defense doing a fantastic job of bottling them up when
one of them fell in the box and landed on the ball. The officials called a
PK for a hand ball and the Scotia comeback began. Just two minutes after
giving up the PK goal a Scotia forward blasted a tremendous shot from long
range that keeper Patrick Resse couldn't reach cutting the lead to 1. GF
continued to dominate the ball and seemed to have things in hand when a
blown clearance by the keeper resulted in a foul at the top of the box and a
straight red to the GF netminder. After the keeper change, Scotia took the
direct free kick from the top of the box and the Indians could only watch as
the ball deflected away from new goalie Sean Barnes who had been heading in
the opposite direction. Tie score 3-3. From that point on Glens Falls pushed
for the winner and managed to hold a large portion of the possession even a
man down. Shell shocked and depleted the Indians just couldn't push through
for the final goal and it was Scotia who, 1 minute into the second OT period
got a 35 yard bomb that dropped just under the bar for the winning tally. |
